ABERDEEN, Md. — Aberdeen Police said they arrested and charged a man Friday evening after he pointed a firearm at a woman.

Detectives said 30-year-old Maurice Antoine Allen, who lives in the 300 block of Center Deen Avenue, was arrested on firearms related offenses as a result of the handgun recovered during a warranted search.

On May 17, at 12:56 p.m., officers responded to a 9-1-1 call in the 300 block of Center Deen Avenue, from a woman who alleged a man pointed a gun at her while she was playing with a child. Police said, Allen went inside the home only to return outside allegedly pointing the gun at the woman's head.

With the help from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office and Havre de Grace Police Department, officers were able to surround the area.

Investigators said it's unclear if Allen was still inside the residence or if he had fled, therefore the neighborhood was locked down and a tactical approach to locate him was initiated.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence, which was executed by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team. During the subsequent search of the residence, a hand gun with an obliterated serial number was recovered.

There were no injuries as a result of this incident. Police said it is unclear if Allen was directly involved in the original complaint. The investigation remains active.
