Bel Air Police Chief placed on leave after being served with protective order

BEL AIR, Md. (WMAR) — The Chief of the Bel Air Police Department has been put on administrative leave.

Charles A. Moore Jr. was served a temporary protective order through the Harford County Circuit Court over a personal family matter, according to the town of Bel Air.

The town and police department offered no further comment.

Deputy Chief of Police Richard J. Peschek will act as Chief during Moore’s absence.

Moore has been Chief since 2015.
