ABINGDON. MD. — Harford County detectives arrested and charged two men in connection to a stabbing at an Abingdon bar last week.
Detectives identified the two suspects as 38-year-old John Delmer Knopp of Bel Air and 39-year-old Dominic Leon Sykes of Abingdon.
Deputies issued arrest warrants for the men Friday, March 8., a day after the stabbing. They were taken into custody on Saturday, March 9.
Knopp is charged with attempted 1st and 2nd degree murder, 1st and 2nd degree assault and reckless endangerment. Sykes is charged with attempted 2nd degree murder, 1st and 2nd degree assault and reckless endangerment. Both are being held without bond.
Deputies responded to the Bushmill Tavern on Philadelphia Road in Abingdon for the report of a stabbing, early Thursday morning. There, they found an adult male had been stabbed in the upper body. The victim was transported by medics with the Abingdon Volunteer Fire Company to the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where he was treated for non-life –threatening injuries.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. There are no further details being released at this time.
