HARFORD COUNTY — Harford County Public Schools is now hiring.
The school system is looking for special education and math teachers, as well as bus drivers, food and nutrition staff and custodial workers.
"There's also the public perception that we actually cut teaching positions or actually people. We didn't cut teachers. We actually cut some positions," said Shannon Hagan, Chief Recruiter of Harford County Public Schools. "So, our staff members had to be relocated to other areas of the county."
Harford County Public Schools says the positions are from typical turnover, like retirement or resignations.
The starting salary for teachers in the county is just over $48,000.
In a previous article we reported that more than 100 hundred teachers were forced from their jobs and more than 100 administrators and teachers were left without jobs for the upcoming school year. That was an error on our part and we apologize for the mistake.
