EDGEWOOD, Md. — A man was arrested on Thursday in connection to a deadly shooting in Edgewood that happened in September.

Sheron Garrett, 28, was arrested in Baltimore by the Harford County Sheriff's Office and charged with murder.

Garrett is accused of killing Deandre Sellers, 27, on Saturday, September 29.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the 1900 block of Edgewater Drive at 7:00 p.m. for a report of a shooting. That's where they found Sellers. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

The investigation is ongoing. There are no further details being released at this time. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Detective Golden at 410-836-5430.

This homicide drew an almost immediate response on social media from Harford County Councilman Andre Johnson when it happened.

Johnson claimed there was a lack of police engagement in his district.

Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler disagreed and said the councilman needed to give the community more credit.
