One man was killed after his car hit a telephone pole in Abingdon late shortly after midnight Friday.
It happened in the area of Route 7 and Governor Court in Abingdon. Maryland State Police arrived to find a damaged Honda that had hit a telephone pole.
The driver, identified as 23-year-old Christian Serrano of Rosewood Drive in Edgewood, was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air where he was pronounced dead.
Police believe the Honda was headed westbound on Route 7 when it crossed the double yellow line, went off the road and hit the pole. Investigators aren't sure what caused the crash.
