The Maryland Center for the Arts is hosting two workshops Saturday to supplement art programs cut from school budgets across the state, Chief Executive Officer of MCFTA Michael Jessup said.

At 11 a.m., Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Cellist Bo Li will teach a master class to four chosen students and give them a critique to hone their skills.

Then at noon, Li  will play a concert accompanied by pianist Choo Choo Hu that's free and open to the public at Music Land in Bel Air.

At 2 p.m., renowned painter Hai-Oh Hou will teach a class on painting techniques to about 20 students. That will happen at Ken Karlic's Studio.
