Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Co crews responded to a house fire Sunday afternoon. A spokesperson says the fire broke out just after noon in the 1700 block of Old Joppa Rd. One person was rushed to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for a medical condition; one cat died in the fire.
Fallston VFAC, Kingsville VFC, Abingdon FC, and Bel Air VFC crews assisted in bringing the fire under control.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office will be investigating the cause of the fire.
Old Joppa Rd was closed from Old Mountain Rd N to Jerusalem Rd.
