ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. — Military tests will take place at Aberdeen Proving Ground from March 4 until March 8, the military installation said Monday.
Tests occurring in the Edgewood area may last until 8 p.m. Another testing operation in Aberdeen Proving Ground North will take place March 5-6 during the day. Noise from the tests be heard in the surrounding communities, the U.S Army Test and Evaluation Command said.
Despite the potential noise disturbances in neighboring areas, the operations are not hazardous to residents, the Army said. The training is deemed necessary to the Army's mission.
The exercises may include military weapons and watercraft, resulting in weapon firing and light flashes being heard and seen by the community.
Knowing the noise can't be contained, Proving Ground officials said they are taking every measure to limit the amount of impact the training has on the community.
If at any time anyone in the surrounding communities are concerned about something potentially related to testing, they are encouraged to call 443-861-6586.
