22-year-old woman killed after being hit by two cars in Edgewood

EDGEWOOD, Md. — A young woman was killed early Monday morning after being hit by two cars in Edgewood.

Maryland State Police say a 22-year-old Port Deposit woman was hit on Edgewood Road at Emmorton Road around 6 a.m. Maryland State Police say the woman was trying to cross the center median on Emmorton Road when she was hit by a passing car.

After she was hit by the first car, another car that was driving down Edgewood Road hit her again as she laid on the road. The woman was declared dead at the scene. Police are withholding her identification until next of kin are notified.

Both of the cars who hit the woman stayed in the area until police arrived, and nobody else was injured. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in this crash.

Edgewood Road at Emmorton Road were closed for a portion of the morning as crews investigated. Police
