An Atholton High School student shared a racially charged on social media, according to Howard County Schools.

Thursday, the school system tweeted that they are taking action. The following letter was sent on behalf of the school system:

Howard County Police said they investigated the post, which was three years old. The post included a picture of a gun, which was a BB gun.
"We are in contact with the school system, since the photo has resurfaced and has been circulated. There is no legitimate threat," Howard County Police spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn said in an email to ABC2 News.
