A student brought a BB gun to a school in Howard County, prompting a lockdown Tuesday morning, the school's principal confirmed in a released statement.
Burleigh Manor Middle School Principal Mikaela Lidgard said the school was on lock down until the gun was found, the student's family was contacted, and the student was taken into custody. Howard County Police, Howard County Public School System Office of Safety and Security personnel, and HCPSS Division of School Management and Instruction Leadership were notified and responded immediately, Lidgard said. No students were injured. The incident is still being investigated.
