Maryland has its first Scripps National Spelling Bee winner.
The Howard County Public Library System celebrated 13-year-old Saketh Sundar's big win. He's one of eight champions.
"I'm just really excited to be here," said Sundar. "I'm honored to be a part of this celebration. It was just a really surreal experience winning the Spelling Bee and getting to do all of this fun stuff after it."
Sundar won the HCLS spelling in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
He is the first student to win the bee for four consecutive years.
The next challenge he's taking on is high school.
