MOUNT AIRY, Md. — Maryland State Police are investigating a crash that left one person dead on Monday near westbound I-70 in Mount Airy.
According to police, around 8:48 a.m., troopers were called for a crash on I-70 in Howard County where they found a driver of a pickup truck deceased at the scene.
Early reports indicated that the driver of a 2004 Ford F-150 truck apparently struck the rear of a Honda CRV and then ran off the road through a barrier fence and trees before coming to a stop on Old Frederick Road.
The driver, identified as 37-year-old Delonte DeAngelo Bowman was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore who will determine the cause and manner of death.
