Two people died in a multi vehicle crash on westbound Route 175 Thursday in Howard County.

Investigators believe a 2013 Chrysler 200, driven by Lucinda Louise Miller, 67 of Laurel, was traveling westbound on Route 175 just west of Interstate 95 when it sideswiped a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the road.

The Chrysler continued west on 175, sideswiped another vehicle that was stopped at a redlight, went through the intersection and struck a 2012 Honda Accord that was making a left turn from 175 onto Route 108.

Police say Miller was pronounced dead at Howard County General Hospital while the Honda driver identified as Monteia Sherita Carter, 26 of Baltimore, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are looking into the possibility that Miller may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the crashes.

Several roadways in the area were closed for approximately four hours.
