Howard County firefighters rescued a dog from a two-story house fire in in Columbia Saturday afternoon.
Authorities said around 1:30 p.m. firefighters responded to the 10,000 block of Hatbrim Terrace in King’s Contrivance for a house fire. When fire crews arrived they battled heavy flames on the first floor of the single-family home.
Two residents safely escaped the flames but firefighters rescued the family dog “Jet.” Both residents were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
