A Howard County man pleaded guilty Tuesday for child porn charges.
Howard County Police said the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received a tip in the beginning of the year about 71-year-old Robert Awtrey, downloading porn to his computer.
When police issued a warrant to Awtrey, he admitted to viewing images of woman but not children.
During the search, officers found 3 USB drives in a safe in the basement. The drives contained an image of a toddler, naked from the waist down, with her genitals exposed and a penis against it.
According to police, Awtrey told police that he was surprised about the pictures and believes someone put them there.
He could face a possible five years behind bars and must register as a Tier 1 sex offender.
Awtrey's sentencing is scheduled for February 28, 2020.
