Loan Closet of Howard County open for non-contact donations, returns at two locations beginning July 6

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. — The Loan Closet of Howard County announced on Tuesday they will be open for non-contact donations and returns at two locations beginning on Monday, July 6th.

“Howard County’s Loan Closet is a critical resource for our population and provides the opportunity for all our residents to thrive,” said County Executive Calvin Ball. “Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a greater need for medical equipment and resources for our residents and caregivers. We’re pleased that this service is able to safely accept donations again.”

Donations at the 7125 Riverwood Drive location may be dropped off every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. by appointment only.

Donations must be made by individuals who are able to unload all equipment on their own at the Loan Closet’s loading zone and are willing to receive donation receipts by electronic or traditional mail.

Donations can be made at the Loan Closet’s Durable Medical Equipment Shed located at the Alpha Ridge Landfill from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The Alpha Ridge Landfill is located at 2350 Marriottsville Rd, Marriottsville, MD 21104, and donation receipts will not be provided at the satellite location.

Non-contact equipment distribution remains available at the Loan Closet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
