COLUMBIA, Md. — On Thursday, hundreds of healthcare workers will miss out on Thanksgiving with their family.

The Walrus Oyster and Ale House in Howard County wants to fix that.

They're going to feed 700 frontline healthcare workers at Howard County General Hospital.

Restaurant workers prepared majority of the food. The food will be delivered thanksgiving morning.

"We find it so important throughout the course of the pandemic to keep the people who keep our community safe fed. They work long hours sometimes there's cafeteria food, they bring their own snacks from home, but they should have a hot delicious meal."

During the spring shutdown, the restaurant delivered more than 2,500 meals to the hospital.

This holiday season, The Walrus is also donating meals and volunteering at the Howard County Food Bank with the goal of feeding 500 families.
