A four car collision in Ellicott City Friday evening sent two drivers to University of Maryland Shock Trauma with serious injuries, according to police.
The accident occurred at approximately 6:05 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a Chevy 2500 was traveling westbound on Baltimore National Pike prior to Marriottsville Road when the driver failed to stay within the lane and struck a Ford Expedition. The Chevy then failed to stop at the red light and struck a Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Compass.
The driver and sole-occupant of the Chevy has been identified as Michael Daury, 45, of Greenbelt. Daury was transported to shock trauma and is currently stable.
The driver and sole-occupant of the Jeep Compass, Jeremy Feldman, 37, of Woodbine was also transported to shock trauma. He is currently stable.
The driver and sole-occupant of the Ford, Bobby Buhl, 48, of West Friendship was not injured. Neither was the driver and sole-occupant of the Jeep Wrangler, Steven Rifkin, 51, of Woodstock.
Route 40 was closed in the area of Turf Valley Road and Marriottsville Road and Marriottsville Road was closed between Resort Road and Route 144 for approximately four hours.
Charges have not been filed at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
