Howard County Police are investigating a deadly pedestrian-involved accident on Route 175 in Jessup.
The accident took place just before 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say the victim, Janay Dominique Carter, 27, was transported to Howard County General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver, 61-year-old Raymond Slater of Glen Burnie, was driving a 2009 Dodge Ram westbound on Route 175 between Pocomoke Avenue and Washington Boulevard when he hit a woman attempting to cross Route 175, according to police. The driver stayed on the scene.
Slater wasn't injured and no charges have been filed at this time. Investigators believe pedestrian error caused the collision.
Westbound lanes on Route 175 were closed for several hours during the investigation.
