ELKRIDGE, Md. — A car chase ended with a police involved shooting on Furnace Avenue in Elkridge on Thursday afternoon.
Howard County officers got the call just before 2:30 p.m., and found out that Baltimore County Police had been pursuing a car with a suspect wanted in connection to a shooting that happened there earlier in the week.
The 10 plus mile chase reportedly started when the car took off after Baltimore County officers tried pulling it over at the intersection of Second Street and Saratoga.
Ultimately the pursuit ended on Furnace Avenue, at which point the shooting occurred.
By the time Howard County Police arrived, three people were still inside the suspect's car.
One was taken into custody and a second was taken to Shock Trauma with a gunshot wound. A third initially refused to get out of the car, but when he did it was discovered that he'd also been shot.
The condition of both suspects is unknown, however no officers were struck by gunfire or injured.
A gun belonging to one of the suspects was found inside the car following the incident, but investigators are still working to figure out if they ever fired. It's unclear how many Baltimore County officers were involved in the shooting.
Howard County Police have taken over that part of the investigation. Neither the suspects or officers names have been released at this time.
