ELLICOTT CITY, Md. — Two Howard County Public Schools will be closed on Friday due to power outages.
Late Thursday evening, it was announced that Folly Quarter and Clarksville Middle Schools were without power, prompting the closure.
Folly Quarter Middle School and Clarksville Middle School will be closed Friday, May 31, due to power outages at the schools.

Both schools are in the area where the National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touched down Thursday afternoon.

The weather resulted in thousands of power outages, several homes and cars being damaged as well as multiple downed trees, power lines and light poles.
