Travelers can expect flight cancellations ahead of the impending blizzard, according to a tweet from BWI Marshall Airport.
Airline service could be suspended starting Friday afternoon and continuing through the evening, as the snow storm threatens to dump up to 2 feet of snow in some areas.

The winter weather has affected flights nationwide.
Delta and Southwest Airlines have announced flight cancellations and delays. American Airlines, American Eagle and United Airlines have offered waivers to help some travelers reschedule their flights.
A Blizzard Warning is in effect for Central Maryland from 3 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Sunday. Gov. Larry Hogan has declared a state of emergency saying the impending blizzard could be the worst snow storm the Maryland area has seen since 2010.
