ROCKVILLE, Md (WMAR) — A swim club and day care center went up in flames on Sunday evening in Rockville.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer says the fire started just before 8:30 p.m. at the Georgetown Hill Early School and Woodley Gardens Swim Club located at 850 Nelson Street.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue says it took roughly 100 firefighters to contain the fire, but it still sustained significant damage. Crews had been dealing with periodic explosions most likely due to chemicals and combustible materials, according to Piringer.
Nelson Street was closed between Azalea Drive and Aster Boulevard while firefighters were battling the blaze.
Fire officials say there was a total of $750,000 worth of damage and an investigation is underway.
No injuries have been reported. It's unclear what started the fire.
