A man accused of leaving the scene of a crash on the Baltimore Washington Parkway that left a man dead was been convicted on two offenses related to the crash.

Seventy-three-year-old Earl Teeter Jr. of Hyattsville pleaded guilty Wednesday to failing to stop after driving a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in death. U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas DiGirolamo convicted him of operating a vehicle without due care.

Teeter was charged in the Feb. 1 crash that killed 38-year-old Rick Warrick of Washington. Police say a car hit Warrick and his fiancee as he changed a tire on the BW Parkway in Maryland City. His fiancee, 28-year-old Julia Pearce, survived.

Teeter faces a maximum of six months in prison for each of the two offenses at sentencing on Jan. 20.
