A candidate in Maryland's gubernatorial race has decided to drop out.
Valerie Ervin and running mate Marisol Johnson made the official announcement on Wednesday at the Takoma Langley Transit Center. During the conference, they also said they are joining backing Rushern Baker.
The duo says they want to continue their fight for the issues facing Maryland's working families.

Ervin's campaign lasted less than a month. She announced her intention to run one week following the May 10 death of Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, for whom she was running as Lieutenant Governor.
