Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has ordered the United States and Maryland State Flags to be lowered to half-staff tohonor a firefighter who died Monday morning fighting a blaze in Clarksville.
Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services Firefighter Nathan Flynn died in the line of duty when he fell through the structure, landing in the basement while fighting the seven-alarm fire, officials said.

Maryland State Police said on Facebook flags will be lowered effective immediately and will return to full-staff "on the day of internment."
