The trip to the Eastern Shore gets easier as route 50 will be expanded Monday.
A fourth lane is added to eastbound 50 on the Severn River Bridge.
The extra lane will help congestion as people head to Ocean City this summer.
Crews finished the project a month early.
Governor Larry Hogan officially opens the lane at 8:45 Monday morning at the intersection of Riverview Avenue and Ridgely Avenue.
