A teenage shooting suspect was reportedly in the area of Great Mills High School Wednesday afternoon, prompting the school to go on lockdown.

The Sheriff's Office sent out a tweet saying the school is on lockdown as a precautionary measure and there is a large police presence at the school.

Later it was discovered deputies were looking for 17-year-old Elijah Miguel Miles who was wanted in connection to a shooting in the Hickory Hills neighborhood on Tuesday. The shooting was reported in the 22000 block of Athlone Drive and the shooting victim was flown to a hospital in stable condition.

The school was placed on lockdown because Miles was reportedly seen in the area of the school. He was later found and arrested.

Earlier this year, two people were shot at Great Mills High School during a shooting. The gunman killed himself after shooting his classmates.
