Man dead after crashing into parked tractor trailer on I-70 in Frederick County

A man is dead after his car collided with a tractor trailer in Frederick County Sunday, Maryland State Police said.

The accident occurred on eastbound I-70, just east of the Hollow Road exit in Middletown. Police said a 2018 Freightliner Tractor Trailer had pulled over on the shoulder of I-70 due to a flat tire. For reasons currently unknown, a Ford Focus driven by 78-year-old Richard Allen Manlove of Virginia Beach, Va., left the roadway and collided with the back of the stopped truck.

Manlove was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, 36-year-old Latoya Vaneetra Richards, of Charlestown, W.V., was not injured.
