Members of the Maryland Air National Guard are joining the Mosul offensive in Iraq.
The 104th Fighter Squadron sent a dozen A-10’s to the Middle East last week.
Attack planes are advancing on a nearby town held by the Islamic State on what is now the fourth day of a massive operation to retake Iraq’s second-largest city from the terrorist group.

The offensive is led by Iraqi military forces with backing from U.S. air power and artillery.
