ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The new year, 2020 is just around the corner.
Governor Larry Hogan couldn't wait until midnight on New Year’s Eve to celebrate.
On Wednesday in Annapolis, he announced 2020 as the year of the women.
2020 is the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, that allowed women to vote.
“It's really just recognizing women. I say every year should be the year of the women but, we are going to proclaim 2020 as the year of the woman.” said Governor Larry Hogan.
The governor proclaimed 2019 as the year of the veteran.
