State police and a coroner say a Maryland man has been fatally shot at a vacation cabin just over the border in south-central Pennsylvania.
Fifty-eight-year-old Daniel Sufczynski is from Essex, Maryland, but was in Southampton Township, Bedford County when he was shot Saturday afternoon. He was transported to a hospital in Johnstown, Cambria County, where he died in surgery.
Cambria County Coroner Jeffrey Lees says the victim lived long enough to tell police what happened, but troopers from the Bedford barracks have not released any information nor said whether they have a suspect.
The coroner says no weapon was found at the scene, which helped investigators confirm the wound wasn't self-inflicted.
Police didn't immediate offer an update on their investigation Monday.
The cabin is located about 120 miles (193.1 kilometers) southeast of Pittsburgh.
