Five Maryland nursing homes were named in a Senate report listing nearly 400 facilities with serious health, safety or sanitary problems.
They include:

  • Autumn Lake Healthcare at Pikesville – Pikesville
  • Patapsco Valley Center – Randallstown
  • Canton Manor – Baltimore
  • Cadia Healthcare – Wheaton
  • Cadia Healthcare – Springbrook – Silver Spring

According to the Senate report, the government currently only releases the names of nursing homes given warning labels under the Special Focus Facility Program, not the hundreds of nursing homes that qualify for the program but were not chosen because of limited resources at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
