ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. — Election day, on November 3, is approaching.

To make sure your vote counts, you need to sign up.

The deadline to register online is Tuesday, October 13. You can still drop off an application at your Election Board Office closest to you.

To register, you need your Maryland drivers' license or another ID with your current address.

If you don’t have any of those type of documents, your cable bill, utility bill or any other document that has your name and address on it, will do.

During the pandemic, Maryland has had more options than ever to vote: drop box, by mail, early voting, are just some.

Some voters think the options can be a little tough to understand, but they also say options can be a good thing.

“I guess it’s okay for people who can’t get out and vote, so yes for them. I can get out and vote and I can do it online also so, it really doesn’t matter,” said Patricia Webster.

If you miss the October 13 deadline to register online, you can do same day registration during early voting on Oct. 26 all the way up to and including election day.

State election officials remind us, to vote by mail or drop box to keep it safer with less crowds for election day.
