A meteor that streaked through the sky late Tuesday captured the attention of stargazers and night owls alike.
Those who witnessed the celestial surprise saw a glowing orb slash diagonally across the sky as the astronomical artifact burned in Earth’s atmosphere. There have been no reports of the meteor being found on the ground.
The meteor was visible from Cape May, N.J. to the Carolinas, and one Prince George’s County Police officer got a great view captured on his dashboard camera. As his cruiser was traveling down a deserted stretch of road, a fireball illuminated the center of the screen, directly above the roadway.
Take a look.
