BALTIMORE — Beginning October 1 several laws are set to go into effect in Maryland.

A major one is the minimum age for buying tobacco products will be raised from 18 to 21.

That includes cigarettes, cigars, E-cigarettes, and any related smoking accessories.

There are some exceptions, those with a military ID are exempt from the new law.

Maryland is one of 18 states to raise the minimum legal age requirement since 2016.

The law comes after it was passed in this year's Maryland General Assembly.
