The Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence released its 2015-2016 domestic violence fatality statistics Monday.
According to the report, 55 people died in Maryland as a result of domestic violence.
Between July 2015 and June 2016, 42 victims and 13 domestic violence abusers lost their lives.
At least 47 children were left without a parent.
