A name change could be in the works for students at the Naval Academy.
According to a memo from Ray Mabus, secretary of the Navy, a "detailed implementation plan" was requested by Jan. 15 to address the improvement of gender integrated training.
This plan will "ensure full integration of female Sailors and Marines" within the Department of the Navy.
The proposal could remove the word "man" from all titles, including the title "midshipmen," because women now serve in virtually every role in the military.
It's not clear what changes will be made, if any, yet the name change is being met with mixed reviews.
