Frederick Police say a witness told them a group of friends were outside in the 1400 block of Taney Avenue somewhere between midnight and 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning when they were approached by a black male suspect possessing a handgun.
The suspect ordered them to empty their pockets and after a brief struggle, he fired the gun striking one person.
The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries and has been released since then.
Police have not yet identified the suspect.
