A 73-year-old Salisbury man is dead after a crash that shut down a portion of Route 50 for hours Sunday morning.
Police said a tractor trailer hauling Cloverland Milk was the only vehicle involved in the crash that the killed the driver, identified as George Marvel Fooks.
An investigation found the tractor trailer was traveling east on Route 50 when Fooks lost control and overturned onto the guardrail. Fooks was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said speed may have been a factor in the crash.
Route 50 reopened in both directions at noon.
