School employee caught on video saying racial slur can't be fired

Posted

A school employee caught on video using a racial slur can't be fired.

Prince George's County school officials say the woman is a union employee, which limits what they can do in regards to firing her.

The now-viral video shows part of a woman's encounter with the Potomac Landing Elementary School worker who insulted her husband over a parking spot at a La Plata Walmart.

In the video, you can hear a woman saying, "Did you just call my husband the n-word?" followed by the school employee saying "Yeah I did."

County school officials say the employee has been reassigned and is not working inside a school pending the outcome of its investigation.
