Derogatory messages were found on whiteboards in two dorms at the University of Maryland.

Police found comments targeting the LGBTQ community on a whiteboard in Queen Anne's Hall Sunday.

Students say they heard people making similar statements the night after the messages were discovered.

Later that evening, police also found a swastika on a whiteboard in La Plata Hall.

Campus police are reviewing camera footage and the swipe card access system in both buildings as part of the investigation.
