At least 30 people at the University of Maryland have now gotten sick with the adenovirus.
Eight of those people have been hospitalized and 18-year-old freshman Olivia Parabol died last month from complications related to the virus.

The virus usually causes symptoms similar to a cold, but there are more serious strains, and it can be deadly to people who have underlying conditions.
The university has announced that it plans to disinfect all of its dorms over winter break.
