The Yellow Alert program went into effect in October 2015 to help locate those who fail to remain at the scene of a traffic crash resulting in serious injury or death.

Governor Larry Hogan signed the legislation to help police share information related to hit-and-runs to increase the possibility of locating the vehicle and the suspect.
