BALTIMORE — WMAR-2 News is committed to improving the lives of Veterans in Maryland by shining a light on their stories, struggles and triumphs. Every week a local veteran will be featured in our Veteran Spotlight contest.

This week's nominee is Michelle Lee of Hamilton, who proudly served in the United States Army for seven years as a specialist.

Lee now serves Baltimore City and works tirelessly to prevent crime and to make the community a better place. She has been a Victim Advocate Coordinator at the State's Attorney's Office for 25 years.

Lee is also a Community Liason in Southeast Baltimore, as well as, a Chaplain with the Baltimore Police Department and the Paul L. Thompson Memorial Chapter 1. She is also a proud member and minister of the Walk By Faith Ministries in Baltimore.

Her colleague, Lakeisha, nominated her for the veteran spotlight award and says that her hard work and dedication is inspiring and sets the framework for the person she wants to be.
