CAATONSVILLE. MD. — A wreath for each fallen hero for Christmas.

It's an annual tradition at cemeteries across the country.

On Thursday, thousands of wreaths arrived at the Baltimore National Cemetery in preparation for Saturday’s Wreaths Across America event.

"This year we're very pleased. We almost had 9,000 wreaths donated this year, which is an all-time high for us. And we're just really thrilled with the support that we've gotten from the community this year." said Michael Brophy, Director of Historic Baltimore National Cemetery complex.

Wreaths will also be laid at gravesites at the Arlington National Cemetery and Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
