Celebrating Valentine's Day and beyond

February is the time for chocolates, flowers and date nights, but Mia Redrick says it's so much more.

"Romance isn't something that happens because of Valentine's Day.  Romance is something that allows you to build a culture in your family to build connections."

Our Mom Strategist says you can build those connections with something as simple as a date night.

"One of the things that I recommend is giving a gift  that keeps on giving think gift certificates where each and every week you and your spouse can go somewhere different to have drinks or appetizers and think less dinner."

"Do CineBistro, a really good movie theatre for adults 21 and over.  The food  is great you can actually have your food right there delivered to you and watch a movie."

"Places that I recommend to go reasonable dinner, great environment, great drinks or something different Cava Mezze at the Inner Harbor....a really romantic sexy place to be, but on the same token it's not a really expensive restaurant to go to enjoy your sweetie."

Redrick says you should really celebrate your relationship all year long.  The more time you spend communicating with your spouse, away from the day to day and the kids, the better you are at building that relationship for down the road.

"I think dating one another finding places that are within 10-15 minutes of your home where you can meet your spouse or meet the person that you are dating for an intimate moment is really important."
