Finding the Fun During the Holidays

"The holidays are a great time to celebrate with your family."

Mia Redrick says it's a time to create memories.

"Some of my favorites are to go ice skating.  Pandora ice skating rink is wonderful.  Mt. Pleasant the ice skating rink is really, just a great way, a festive way to get into the fun of the season."

And the Mom Strategist says you can do it without breaking the bank.  It's about 15 dollars a person including skate rental.

If you're looking for something even less expensive, but extremely exciting, you can never go wrong with a visit to the Miracle on 34th street in Hampden. The neighborhood is in its 71st year of lighting up the town.

"You can't live in Baltimore or entertain your friends in Baltimore and not take people to go see those beautiful amazing lights.  Such hard working people to spend their time decorating that way."

If you want to enjoy the spirit of the season indoors, Redrick has suggestions for that too.

"The B & O has a really great display for trains, and I love it.  It's wonderful for families in general, but if you have any train lovers in your family young or old, the B &O display is really terrific."

To wrap up the season and bring in the New Year with a bang, Redrick says make plans now for the fireworks on New Year’s Eve.

Baltimore will ring in 2018 with live music and a spectacular show over the Inner Harbor. Redrick says to make a family night of it and rent a hotel room at the Hyatt Regency or the Pier 5 hotel.

"They have a really great glass enclosure which they make available to their guests to see the fireworks and it's right over the Inner Harbor and it's I believe the best view for the fireworks."
